To celebrate harvest and distillation season, the museum offers a day full of discovery activities for children and adults. Workshops are included with the museum admission ticket.
On August 5, 2026, the Lavender Museum Luberon celebrates lavender at the most exciting moment of the summer: harvest and distillation. This festive day invites you to enjoy an immersive Luberon experience in a must-visit museum in Provence, surrounded by warm summer scents and shared traditions. A perfect answer to “What to do in the Luberon?” near Gordes and Avignon, in the Vaucluse, in Provence.
Watch a traditional hand-cutting demonstration, just like in the old days. You’ll see how the bouquet is built, how the gesture flows, and how the know-how is passed on. At the end, everyone leaves with a freshly cut bunch of lavandin — an authentic moment that captures the spirit of Provence.
Times: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm and 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
From opening time, plan your day your way: self-guided museum visit, workshops, distillation moments, the harvest demonstration and a gourmet break. Easy to organise — even with children — with a mix of short activities and deeper experiences.
The audio-guided visit lets you explore the collection and the know-how linked to lavender. Follow the story of tools, trades and distilleries, and understand why fine lavender is so important in the Vaucluse landscape — perfect for a family discovery in the Luberon.
The audio guide is available in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Czech, Dutch and Russian.
Duration: 1h to 1h15.
Distillation shows how lavender becomes essential oil. Explanations stay clear, scents evolve throughout the process, and the gestures can be observed up close — a must during this “Harvest & Distillation” celebration day.
Duration: 20 to 30 minutes.
Booking recommended by phone: +33 (0)4 90 76 91 23.

Children create their own lavender sachet with Céline and Allison. Simple, fun, and easy to fit into the day — an ideal activity for families visiting the Luberon.
