A joyful, floral and sensory day in the heart of the Luberon

On July 29, the Lavender Museum Luberon invites visitors of all ages to celebrate summer in a naturally enchanting setting. At this time of year, the lavender field is in full bloom, cicadas sing, and the Luberon atmosphere is made for slowing down and enjoying the outdoors. In a bohemian 70s-inspired vibe — freedom, nature and creativity — this festive day offers an out-of-the-ordinary visit, filled with family activities, sensory moments and the simple pleasure of experiencing the museum in the open air.

A full programme for little and big dreamers

The museum becomes a true bubble of happiness and discovery. Throughout the day, a series of immersive workshops and activities let you enjoy a unique sensory experience in the Luberon, blending Provençal traditions with floral creativity.

Sensory Workshop – Awakening the Senses

10:15 am to 11:30 am or 2:00 pm to 3:15 pm
A gentle moment to reconnect with Provence's iconic scents. Participants explore the subtle aromas of fine lavender, thyme, mint and many other locally grown aromatic treasures.
Good French required.

Kids' Lavender Sachet Workshop

10:30 am to 5:00 pm
A joyful, creative workshop — perfect for younger visitors. Céline and Allison guide children as they create their own scented sachet. A family activity in the Luberon combining botanical discovery and hands-on fun.
Included with admission – Duration: 20 minutes

Lavender Spindle Weaving Workshop

10:00 am to 6:00 pm
A Provençal tradition passed on with passion by Mrs Bagnoli. Learn how to weave a true lavender spindle — decorative, fragrant and a symbol of local know-how.
Contribution: €10 (paid on site)

Scented Watercolour Workshop

2:00 pm to 6:00 pm – sessions at 2 pm, 3 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm
An artistic bubble with watercolourist Nathalie Maire. Painting the flowers and plants of the Luberon while breathing in their fragrances is a moment suspended in time.

Old-Fashioned Distillation

10:00 am to 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm
A magical moment to observe the traditional distillation process. The museum's distiller shares their know-how with enthusiasm, helping everyone understand the time-honoured gestures that give birth to fine lavender essential oil.
Duration: 20 to 30 minutes – Booking recommended

Self-Guided Audio Tour

10:00 am to 6:00 pm
Explore the museum's 350-piece collection at your own pace. A deep dive into the history of lavender, from field work to medicinal and cosmetic uses.
Duration: about 1h15 – Included with admission

The audio guide is available in French, English, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, Czech, Dutch and Russian.

A lavender-scented gourmet break

All day long, Art Glacier d'Ansouis offers a refreshing break in the museum courtyard. Enjoy bold, local flavours: fine lavender, thyme, rose, rosemary, melon... A true bouquet of tastes to savour with family or friends under the Luberon sun.

Ticket office open on site from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.
The museum closes at 7:00 pm.
