As farmers and distillers of lavender since 5 generations, our pleasure is to carry on the heritage of mountain-grown fine lavender, offering the purest lavender essential oil through direct sales with no middle men. From seed to drop of oil, and from field to skincare, we fully control every step—including formulation in our on-site laboratory at the Lavender Museum in Provence.
Mountain-grown lavender from our producer’s boutique
High up in the Provençal mountains, at 1100 meters altitude, our family grows and distills a rare and precious lavender essential oil. Nestled within a 380-hectare estate—110 hectares dedicated to certified organic lavender and 270 hectares of wild forest—our production is rooted in a preserved and pristine environment.
Each year, our lavender essential oil is awarded the prestigious AOP label (Protected Designation of Origin), a mark of excellence granted only after in-depth chromatographic analysis and a blind assessment by expert perfumers. This rare essence is cultivated in the unique terroir of high-altitude Provence and is ideal for aromatherapy, fine perfumery, and natural skincare products.
The true lavender of Provence
Unlike the more common lavandin, true lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) only grows from seed at high altitude, on dry, rocky, sun-soaked soils. Its reproduction through seed ensures the botanical purity and aromatic finesse that make it so highly valued in both perfumery and skincare.

Just 5 minutes away from Gordes, next to the Lavender Museum in Luberon, we craft our exclusive organic lavender skincare products under our family-owned brand Le Château du Bois Provence. Each formula is developed in-house, using high concentrations of active plant ingredients to create naturally effective skincare—without added perfumes.
Our products combine the power of AOP lavender essential oil with carefully selected botanicals such as harpagophytum, arnica, meadowsweet, safflower oil, and bourbon geranium essential oil. These ingredients work in harmony to nourish, soothe, and hydrate the skin while offering a natural aromatic experience.
